Community Ideas Workshop - 27 March 2022
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend, we will be in touch in the near future with an update on the master planning progress and other opportunities to get involved.
The Macedon and Mount Macedon Community House (MMMCH) Management Committee invites you to join us for an ‘Ideas Workshop’ on Sunday 27th March from 1-5 pm. This workshop will be the first event to be held in the Community House at 47 Victoria Street Macedon, following completion of the Building Renewal Project.
Your input into this workshop will help to shape the creation of a Master Plan for the land and building. This plan will document proposed usages and design of the outdoor and indoor spaces that reflect the expressed needs, desires and opportunities identified by local residents, groups and organisations.
Ideas circulating in the community for possible inclusion in the Master Plan, include for example: a community kitchen garden, sensory garden, passive recreation space, cycle parking, external storage, water tanks, footpath access, children's play space, connectivity with the open space next door, outdoor eating areas etc. All ideas are welcome.
The aim of the workshop is to gather the ideas, and then sort out those that could work on the Community House site. This will be important in assisting the design of outdoor spaces.
Andrew Partos & Begum Yilmaz, consultants with Hansen Partnership Pty Ltd, will lead the workshop. The company has been engaged to undertake the Macedon and Mount Macedon Community House Land and Building Use Master Planning Project. Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Community Funding Scheme and COVID funding grants support the project.
Afternoon Tea is sponsored by the Gisborne & District Community Bank through a Bendigo Bank Macedon Ranges Community Enterprises Reconnect Grant. Please advise us if you have any specific dietary requirements.
For your reference, a statement about the purpose, vision and mission of the community house can be found at: www.macedoncommunityhouse.org/purpose-vision-and-mission
We are keen for as many local residents, groups and organisations as possible to have input into this project. We will keep you updated about other opportunities to get involved at www.mmmcommunityhouse.org and our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Further enquiries can be directed via email to hello@mmmcommunityhouse.org.
We look forward to welcoming you to this important workshop!
